4 Things You Can Learn From Ye’s Situation.
1. Words are powerful, and when you are in a position of power, you watch your thoughts; they become a weapon.
As influencers, you can’t just post anything and think that people will be okay with it and not hold you accountable. Being responsible for what you say is just as crucial as what you don’t say in silence.
2. It’s okay to say, “I am sorry, I’ve crossed the line,” and leave it without justifying anything.
3. With a tremendous amount of wealth comes responsibility. With millions or billions, it’s a civil thing to be responsible, starting by holding oneself accountable for one’s behaviors. And it’s okay to seek help if needed.
4. Words are powerful; Dr. King, Mandela, Biko, X, etc., understood the importance of words.
Don’t just throw them around and expect the world to accept you for one’s ignorance.
Last: “Birds with the same feathers flock together.” Ye hung out with Donnie, and then, bam, “Slavery was a choice.” No one said anything about it. And then on and on.
My conclusion: A lot of money doesn’t make anyone happy. It comes as a great shock when one has to pause everything that’s going on in the world and say, “I have messed up too many times and need some help.”And, it’s never okay to blur out ignorance…
