7 Reasons you should consider going to College in The Philippines
The Philippines, an archipelago nation in Southeast Asia, is increasingly gaining recognition for its quality of higher education among people from Sub-Saharan Africa. I’ve heard from Kenyans, Liberians, Ghanaians, etc., that live in America but are considering sending their kids to college in The Philippines. “Why the Philippines?” I would usually ask myself this question, but with further research, I think that I am in a well-equipped position to explain. Let’s explore why the Philippines is home to excellent universities and why you should consider pursuing your studies there.
1. English Proficiency
One of the key advantages of studying in the Philippines is the country’s proficiency in English. As one of the largest English-speaking nations, the medium of instruction in most schools and universities is English. This makes it easier for international students to communicate, understand lectures, and participate in academic discussions. Given most Filipino Spanish-sounding names, one would never have considered this country to be known for its English proficiency.
