Bon Voyage 🛫

To fully understand, “Why I am here?, I started traveling, indulging myself in cultures, nature and the thrill of ‘new discoveries’.

To experience this “Why?”

That year I almost slept in a cheap hotel, lost my care about being a clean freak and a spacious and decent room for a while, but when I came to myself, my “American side” came out. Boom! There were roaches on the wall, “Oh, hell no. I am not spending the night here!,” I said to myself.

While totally still in disbelief, “I came to check out!” I said to the concierge. “Sir, you will check out tomorrow.” “Well, please keep the change, I’m checking out now.” Caught up with friends. For a while, we went river rafting by the Burma 🇲🇲 and Thai’s border. Boom! I accidentally fell in the river and thanks the good ol’ Lord for that floater vest.

For the next couple of days, I remember talking to a friend about driving down to Cambodia 🇰🇭 from Thailand 🇹🇭 and his response was like, “You must be crazy, dude.” Little that I know, but, the border wasn’t safe. In many instances, I was often the only foreigner (🇱🇷🇺🇸) in tuk tuk or jeepneys going to the next stop 🛑.

Those experiences changed me and make me to realize the importance of existing, simply, without money, etc., but connections and building friendships that lasted for years. Some people in our great nation (🇺🇸) would never understand how special the world is and what it means to relate to others unless they are willing to step outside of their comfort zones.
