If You Don’t Like Your Job, Why Are You Doing It?

It’s 2023, and it is the perfect time to ask yourself, “Am I still in the right job? Am I happy doing the job that pays my bills? Would this job be worth my time and energy in years to come?” But unfortunately, so many people forced themselves to believe they could ride it out for years in a toxic environment at a lousy job. Is that you? And, if it is, “Why are you doing jobs that you don’t like just to make ends meet? What’s keeping you from giving your two weeks’ notice or handing your manager a resignation letter?”

Working a job that pays the bills even when it’s not good for one’s well-being could be tough to quit. Bills surround our lives, and not meeting them on time could strain one’s survival. But where there’s a will, there’s a way. If you live in societies with abundant jobs and options, you must now decide, “What will bring you peace, and how will you arrive at this peace?” Those are a lot of questions to unpack, but happiness is a sure case if we are willing to take action.

Actions start with what we need and where we want to be. However, we can only arrive if we overcome stress. Stress is the most significant factor in aging and early death. We can’t win…
