Revealing Andile: Biko Lives 🇿🇦.

Since his activist journey, Andile has always been open about his stance on issues affecting his beloved country, South Africa. As you go through his Facebook status these days, you would think he’s Anti-White. It would be unreasonable to judge him from afar without understanding from which these sentiments stem. Andile was just a boy when Apartheid ended in his beloved land.

The ghosts of the past still hug South Africa today. As a man, he sought higher education, knowing that it would be the only vehicle for influencing the young minds of South Africa. In doing so, “Black Consciousness” became an idea he would embrace. To understand this remarkable activist of our time, here are 13 questions, with a great response, from this great man, Andile Mngxi.

1. Please give us your background: Where were you born, your family story, etc.?

Andile Speaks: I was born in the rural North West. I grew up on White-owned farms. My parents were farm workers. Farm workers were virtual enslaved people. They have no rights at all. They seek permission even to get visitors. The White farmer is god. And the culture on farms is overdetermined by White-on-Black violence. Essentially a farm…
