Sitting at a coffee shop in 🚇 Metro, Manila; I am astonished by a God-fearing brother, a new friend, Jay Ramirez. We talked about life in its forms; from sunrise till dawn, passions and dreams till the next day. We’ve met through social networking. I was amazed by his beautiful photography work and his willingness to befriend a foreigner, a Liberian-American. His work blew my mind. I wouldn’t go into details, but seeing is believing. This short piece is about the work of Jay Ramirez.
Si Ramirez ay may pag-ibig (Ramirez in love?) You might be questioning, “what is Ramirez in love with?” He’s in love with destiny, dreams, his genuine faith in Christ that never died, and his steadiness to be discovered as a world-renowned photographer.
The next morning outside of my window stood Makati, a dynamic city. It is as beautiful as its dwellers, vibrant and vivacious, but one adjective is used more than any other to describe this city, “multicultural.” I was picked up at Green Sun Hotel by a grab taxi with Jay as one of the passengers. The initial plans were to escape Manila’s traffic for brunch, but we taxi down to Quezon City, bumper-to-bumper.
