Telfar Clemens And The Case For Dual Citizenship in Liberia.
Telfar Clemens is a Liberian-American 🇱🇷🇺🇸, but went out of his way for the love of his parents’ country (Liberia) to put Liberia’s Olympic team on the map. Due to Telfar, we ended up in The New York Times and this time the stories were different, a positive image. He didn’t have to do that especially in a country where some politicians put their pockets first than their fellow citizens. But, guess what? He did! That’s love ❤️ beyond measures. That’s patriotism that’s not solely spoken of but made of actions.
And, I don’t care if he’s gay, straight, bisexual, or in the middle. He did it for the love of his parents’ country (Liberia 🇱🇷) and make some of you proud. That’s Liberian excellence! And if president George Weah cannot see that and set a record to be the first president to passed “dual-citizenship,” I don’t know what Liberian-Americans must do to show some of you in-the-box-thinkers that Liberia (one of the oldest countries in Africa) matters and must move past it’s us versus them stupidity.
As for SOME Liberian-Americans all we want is best for Liberia 🇱🇷 and there’s no ill will there! And, some of us are not going to come back home to take your jobs, but create NEW jobs. Some of us are not going to come back home to run for your offices, but push forth modern ideas to better the offices. Some of us are not interested in what we can get from Liberia but what we can give to better Liberia. To the Liberian parents, raising Liberian-born-Americans 🇱🇷🇺🇸, teach your kids to love and value Liberia 🇺🇸! That’s who they are and no man can take that away from them! A sense of culture, it’s a sense of SELF, and that is powerful for success in any nation. Period!
