After slowly pulling out of the pandemic, it has become too easy to be triggered by anything. People these days are different beasts, from their attitudes on the road to their disregard for others or their sense of empathy. Unfortunately, these outlaws and don’t care attitudes are seen every day. It has been this way in some parts of the country, but it has gotten worse. You might be driving, going the speed limit, when you get an angry driver behind you and is honking at you because, to him/her, you are driving like a granny or grandpa, which can throw you off.

The easy way to react; it’s to act like them and be controlled by your emotions. When you are easily triggered by anything, you are usually controlled by your emotions, not logic. When we are controlled by logic, thinking becomes a byproduct that shapes our emotional response. So, what is the art of mastering your mental health? In simplest terms, through self-empowerment, mindfulness is the only vehicle for defeating unwanted thoughts to get to this place. Using mindfulness as a guidance vehicle in mastering our mental health, one must embrace the idea of not merely being guided by emotions but by logic. Emotions are empty urges, usually profoundly bound up with personal egoism, which lead us down the wrong path.
