Understanding Conflict

Most individuals, when asked, will acknowledge that they don’t like conflict. Remarks such as “I always strive to avoid conflict!” and “I dislike having any dispute or differences” are quite prevalent. There is a definite indication that those who do or have meshed in any form conflict are dangerous or malicious, which of course makes most individuals wanting to avoid conflict.

Understanding conflict in our lives and overcoming it can be extremely propitious to our contentment and well-being. The goal of this critical analysis is to examine conflict within our lives and to reflect on the past cultural context of conflict and how it was dealt with in other cultures. Conflict within our lives is a struggle of imbalance. Meaning, it is a busy trap.

Work-life and life-work conflict had contributed to this unusual phenomenon. At sometimes in our lives, most of us will consciously struggle with efforts to achieve work-life and life-work balance. This is true for most adult Americans, including me. I take these to be self-evident, it is an uncontroversial fact. In my work-life and life-work, I often see myself dealing with this imbalance.
